We met with Mathieu and Michael and asked them a few questions about Parting and Enduring.

1)How would you describe Parting and Enduring?

Parting and Enduring is a dialectical effort to understand some consequences of the principle of evolution that threaten the survival of mankind very clearly and directly. Although it has become commonplace to say and hear that humanity faces global perils, we try to explain how true this actually is by identifying these dangers. For instance, we believe that the reasons and the logic that brought us to such conclusions are at least as important as the outcome of our investigation, for they contain both the problem and some solutions.

2) You have chosen to author this book anonymously. Why?

The points we make have nothing to do with us as individuals. That is why we believe that our study makes sense through its consequences that exceed our own lives, and through its own logical coherence.

3) Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the next fifty years of civilisation and why?

We need to be optimistic, being pessimistic leads nowhere. One element in particular encourages us to share such optimism: we believe that – for now – we have the technological and energy potential to conquer other worlds. Only will apparently lacks.

4) If you could change any one aspect of socio-political discourse what would it be and why?

The leaders of our world must stop playing. They should concentrate on their role that is to pave the way for the future of mankind.

5) If you could impart one piece of wisdom to everyone who reads your book, what would it be?

Michael – Evolution is the process that gave birth to the whole of what we call life. Therefore, everything we feel and do has been made possible only because of evolution. One should keep that in mind.

Mathieu – Any human action needs to be understood primarily through what it intends to do.
